Dolan’s Presents are delighted to announce the return of Irish Legends Bell X1 to King John’s Castle, Limerick in 2019.
One of Ireland’s most acclaimed bands, Bell X1 played a sold-out gig at King John’s Castle this past Summer and they will return to Limerick on Saturday 20 July – one of a very limited number of shows they will perform as a full band in Ireland in 2019.
Today’s announcement from Dolans Presents, in association with Shannon Heritage, comes on the back of recent sell-out performances at the 2,000 capacity 13th century castle which included big names such as The Coronas, Hermitage Green, Walking on Cars, Imelda May and Gavin James.
Speaking at today’s announcement, Mick Dolan of Dolans Presents said: “King John’s Castle is now firmly established as a truly iconic venue for hosting music concerts. Working with Shannon Heritage, it has been a true pleasure to continue to bring some of the leading acts on the Irish music scene to this very special venue”.
“Bell X1 have proved to be immensely popular amongst Limerick audiences. Their gigs never fail to impress and we are looking forward to welcoming them back next July”, Dolan added.
Known for their musical versatility and experimentation, Bell X1’s seven studio albums have incorporated alternative, indie, hard rock, post-punk, acoustic, lo-fi, folk-rock, ballad, pop, synth-pop, new wave and electronica.
That experimentation has been recognized and rewarded, with four of their albums nominated for the Choice Music Prize for Irish Album of the Year and three debuting at #1 on the Irish Album Charts.
Following a hugely successful 2018 celebrating their 20th Anniversary year - which included 5 sold out nights at Vicar Street, Bell X1 also announced an “Acoustic-ish with Strings” tour that sold out in a matter of minutes.
In what is sure to be one of the best live gigs of the Summer, the crowd can expect to hear hits from their canon of critically-acclaimed songs, which includes ‘Rocky Took a Lover’, ‘The Great Defector’, ‘The End is Nigh’ and ‘Flame’ amongst others.
