After a whirlwind few months including performances in LA and across Europe, signing an international publishing deal, signing to influential UK Independent label SO Recordings, Shobsy released his debut EP ‘Own The Night’ last Autumn.
Dance Or Cry’ (the first release from the ‘Own The Night’ EP) reached Number 4 on the Influential Irish Radio Breakers Chart and achieved significant airplay on Ireland’s most listened to station RTE Radio 1 and was ‘Track of the Week’ on RTE 2fm as well as being playlisted on stations such as Sydney Radio in Australia, Radio Excalibur In Greece, KOWS 92.5 (Santa Rosa, CA) and WXDR-LP 98.9 FM (New Orleans, LA),
Shobsy recently completed a 14 date UK & European tour with SO Recordings labelmates MY BABY in November and December and he recently returned from LA where he was the Special Guest performer at The International Music Industry Person of the Year Award presentation to Kirk M. Sommer (WME Global Head of Music) Shobsy has performed numerous sold out shows at prestigious Irish venues over the past year including at Whelan’s, The National Concert Hall and The Academy. He was one of eight Irish acts selected to perform at SXSW in 2025 and also performed on one of the main sages at Ireland’s biggest music Festival Electric Picnic.
In 2025 he signed an international publishing deal with Pangea Music Publishing (partnered with Sony Music Publishing) and a recording contract with SO Recordings (Big Special, Public Sector Broadcasting, Placebo)
In July he was one of a handful of Irish acts (alongside Dermot Kennedy & Gavin James) invited to perform at a special Irish Music Industry showcase event hosted by the President of Ireland at the President’s residence in Dublin.
A performance on Ireland’s Biggest TV show ‘The Late Late Show’ would lead to far reaching additional attention for this Dublin based singer, songwriter and live performer. Shobsy performed a special acoustic re-working of the Jimmy Somerville classic, Smalltown Boy on the show, vocals with piano accompaniment. It was sublime in its sentiment and delivery and the audience reacted; Shobsy’s Late Late Show version of Smalltown Boy went viral and clocked up over 100k views in 12 hours. Shobsy's previous releases including ‘Vanity', ‘ENTERTAINMENT’ & Champagne’ were received exceptionally well with support given both at home in Ireland and overseas from amongst others EARMILK, PopMatters, Nialler9, Hot Press, Today FM and Record Of the Day. Two of his singles were supported as ‘Track of the Week’ on RTE 2fm.
His current single ‘Silver Line Livin’ was recently ‘Track of the Week on the Louise Cantillon show on Today FM.
Shobsy recently released ‘OH!’ Which was his most successful streaming release. He recently completed a sold out Irish acoustic tour. He released his brand new single ‘Silver Line Livin’ on May 18th. He also recently performed at Beyond the Pale Festival and at the Greenfields Festival in County Laois.
