Komorebi (木漏れ日) is a poetic Japanese word that describes sunlight filtering through the canopy of trees. This is an album of hope that reflects on topics such as; estrangement, a humanity drunk at the wheel with the distraction of technology, the tragic life of the world’s first supermodel, a ballad of a Stuntwoman, and St. Valentine using Tinder. 

Komorebi plays with a range of different perspectives in what feels like a rapidly changing world.  Whether that is with a wry, if you don’t laugh, you’ll cry, twist, a melodramatic analogy to a Greek tragedy or a facetious plea to settle for a life of pretence.

Of the album David says;

“I recorded the album in my home studio ‘The Numbers Station’ with some guest appearances by friends and family. While the writing and recording of the album was used to iron out some of life’s wrinkles, it also ended up being an exciting new technical process. With the assistance of the brilliantly talented engineer Luke Conlon, this album was mixed in a way that further equipped and informed me for future recording projects. Which was an amazingly liberating experience”.

Having had a busy summer of live shows from festivals to headline appearances, and singles from Komorebi that have graced the nations airwaves including RTE & 2FM Single of the Week with Jenny Greene. David Geraghty eagerly awaits the release of this new body of work and looks forward to sharing it with you
