King Kong Company

When it comes to Irish festival favourites, few bands have the pedigree and presence of King Kong Company. Named Best Irish Act in 2018 and Best Live Act in 2016 by Pure M magazine, this Waterford-born collective has made a habit of turning festival fields into full-blown parties. From tearing up the Electric Picnic main stage on a Friday night in 2023 to headlining the main stage at All Together Now in 2024, King Kong Company brings an energy that you simply can’t ignore. In fact, their 2019 Electric Picnic set was so memorable that The Irish Times ranked it among the top 10 moments in the festival’s history, a fitting accolade for a band that has played Electric Picnic almost every year since 2014.

Their festival circuit success didn’t stop at home, either. King Kong Company has set fire to stages at Glastonbury and Boomtown (twice), and most recently brought their renowned live show to Beautiful Days 2024 in the UK. Add in a string of other European shows, and it's clear: King Kong Company’s festival credentials are as solid as they come.

They’re not just about live shows, though. Their cinematic blend of electronic, dub, and rock has found its way onto the big screen, with tracks featured in Irish films Deadly Cuts and Let the Wrong One In. It's that kind of crossover appeal that has caught the attention of many, and why King Kong Company feels as at home on a festival stage as they do on a film soundtrack.

In 2017, they were invited to perform for President Michael D. Higgins at Áras an Uachtaráin, and in 2018, they received the prestigious Bram Stoker Medal for Entertainment from the Philosophical Society at Trinity College Dublin. Not bad for a band that built its reputation by blending infectious rhythms with a visual show that rivals the biggest acts out there.

Speaking of visuals, their ongoing collaboration with diorama artist Bobby Fingers adds yet another dimension to their live shows, making sure that no two King Kong Company gigs are ever quite the same.

With a reputation for igniting festival crowds and a growing presence on film soundtracks, King Kong Company is, quite simply, a band that stands out both on stage and screen. If you're looking for something bold, dynamic, and memorable, look no further.
